AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre crossover event that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The narrative features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret cult.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre tests and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Features
Players who accomplish the quest will receive an unique katana in addition to several artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This update also adds the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
