Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water supplies, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The strikes come after evenings of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
